Our Story

A small business specializing in bringing beauty and excitement into the home through home goods, kitchenware & paper accessories.

When you love art and you also love food… you will find a way to mash it up into something beautiful and exciting.

Lilith & Cayde started with a simple idea of displaying and sharing my artwork to others. My name is Kristen and I am a Clothing Designer that has trained on haute couture embroidery at Ecole Lesage in Paris and received a BFA in Fashion Design from Marist College. When I am not designing, I enjoy painting, crafting and cooking in my free time. I share my love of cooking with my boyfriend Marc and we create some unique dishes like homemade duck confit and mushroom raviolis to cauliflower fried rice. Over the past couple of years, he has received pieces of my artwork and it had sparked this idea. With his encouragement and support, we thought about starting a business together named after Lilith (Borderlands) and Cayde (Destiny). From then on, our Lilith & Cayde brand was born to share unique, functional, and quality products to our customers.

Lilith & Cayde offers products to serve as alternative solutions to waste, such as paper towels, plastic wrap and disposable face masks. Many do not realize the social, economical and environmental impacts, but substituting these products into a customer’s everyday life can contribute to the large movement. Lilith & Cayde supports skilled craftsmen and artisans, building a network of small businesses into the economy, and reducing environmental pollution. From the beginning, every product is individually crafted. It starts out that each print is hand painted with watercolors and gouache prints to bring each image to life with textures and colors. Then, all products are thoughtfully designed to have minimum/no waste of materials in the construction process. We carefully researched our vendors to source from small business and domestic companies that also follow our Lilith & Cayde values. While making conscience decisions to reduce our carbon footprint by working with small and like-minded businesses, we are committed to provide the highest quality of fabrics and implement skilled techniques to ensure the longevity of the products.

Our First Collection

Who doesn’t love cheese? What about a beautiful charcuterie board? A deep love of anything cheese has inspired our first collection of tea towels. I couldn’t decide on what cheese to illustrate because I love so many… for hard cheeses, I would prefer a sweet Gruyere; for soft cheeses, I prefer smooth Brie; and for the perfect topping cheese is a salty Pecorino. As you can tell, I could not paint just one, so I painted cheeses from France, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. If you are also a cheese fanatic, do you know what goes well with cheese?… BREAD! Look out for the next tea towel collection to add to your home.
